Meghan Gordon’s writing and curatorial practice celebrates the intersections of labor, language, love, and pleasure, while her gallery, administrative, and non-profit work focuses on storytelling, mentorship, and sustainable practices. Over the past decade, Gordon has made notable contributions to the Los Angeles gallery scene, working exclusively for small, family-run galleries that have prioritized diversity and identity, thus building a fertile foundation from which to nurture emerging artists. Aside from her work with Luis De Jesus Los Angeles and OCHI, Gordon has served on the board of directors of Project X Foundation for Art & Criticism (former publisher of the artist-run journal X-TRA) as well as on the selection committees for several artist awards including the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation Rubys Artist Grant, gener8tor Art X Sherman Phoenix, New York Foundation for the Arts Artist Fellowship, and the Fine Arts Work Center Visual Arts Fellowship.

As an artist, Gordon received support from several arts organizations, including The Artist Project Los Angeles, New York Foundation for the Arts, Sculpture Space, The Times Museum, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Dieu Donné Papermill, Wave Hill, Victorian Society of America, MacDowell, Burlington City Arts, and the Fine Arts Work Center. Originally from New York, Gordon received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, her MFA from California Institute of the Arts, and has been based in Los Angeles for 14 years.
